Water

This piece is an exploration of water in its life-giving state—fluid, reflective, and connective. Rendered in layered blues and turquoises, the hat captures water as both substance and passage, a medium through which life moves and breathes. The tones shift like depth and light, inviting the eye to look through the element and into the white openness of sky beyond it.

A fluid teardrop crown rises to a 4.5” height, providing shape to the form while maintaining a sense of flow. The 3.5” brim extends outward with expansiveness, serving as a horizon where water meets atmosphere. Wrapping the crown is a multi-layered hand-painted textured 3D water-effect band, paired with the natural element of of canvas and leather lace accents that reminds us of the marriage of earth’s elements riding water’s surface.

Feather accents draw inspiration from water’s constant companion, the seagull, symbolizing freedom, navigation, and the bond between sea and sky. Together, these elements form a bold yet sculptural statement—abstract in expression, intentional in meaning. Meant to inspire and feed life.
